How the benchmark works

  1. 1

We read the account's latest posts. Up to 35 of its most recent public posts, with their view counts. Pinned posts, ads and posts from the last 7 days are left out, because new posts are still gaining views.

  2. 2

We take its typical post. The median: half of the account's posts get more views, half get fewer. One viral post doesn't move it, so it shows what a normal post earns.

  3. 3

We place it on the curve. The curve is every public TikTok post published from October 2024 to September 2026 in a dataset of 5.6 billion posts, counted when each was at least a week old. The percentile is the share of those posts with fewer views. The hashtag view uses the account's most used topic hashtags (not #fyp or #viral) and the posts that carried them.
